The project consists of the new construction of a heavy-duty maintenance building to be installed at MARC Riverside Railyard. The building supplemented the existing main shop maintenance activities and includes a 30-ton overhead crane with a 10-ton auxiliary hoist. The building measures approximately 32,000 sf. The building will sit on shallow cast in place concrete footings with structural steel columns supporting steel girders and bar joists.
Meyer Consulting Engineers functioned as the Independent Inspection Agency for the structural steel for this project. MCE utilized qualified personnel, state-of-the-art equipment, and systems to handle the structural steel special inspections and construction. Our work included structural steel to determine compliance with the plans, specifications, and referenced industry standards. Work began in December 2021 with completion in the December 2022,
