Project Description

Size & Type of Project –Airport Hangar Complex

This project features the ground up construction of a new 430,000 SF military plane hangar including 4,000 sq.ft. of interior floor space, advanced communications systems. New runways, taxiways and parking aprons were constructed and a new security fence along the perimeter. Site work consists of a new lighting system, paved parking lot with 217 spaces, hydrant refueling system with storage tans and engine run up pads.  This contract also included storm water management, wetland and stream mitigation.

Scope of Services

Meyer Consulting Engineers Corporation functioned as the Special Inspection Agency of Record.  MCE was responsible for all on-site and off-site testing of construction materials such as earthwork, concrete and asphalt pavements, foundations, firestopping and structural steel.  MCE also provided settlement monitoring services including monitoring of settlement plates and piezometers. Work began in April 2019 with completion in August 2021.  The construction cost was $300,000.00.
