Virginia Square Towers is a new 536 unit apartment complex featuring two towers, a plaza and garage occupying two city blocks. One tower is thirteen stories and the other tower is six stories. The underground garage has four levels, joins the two towers below grade and supports a public road and central amphitheater courtyard above. The gross framed area of the construction equals approximately 850,000 square feet. Above grade, the two towers are connected by a glass pedestrian bridge at the second level.
Primary framing components consist of mildly reinforced cast-in-place columns supporting elevated concrete post-tension decks. The project is in very close proximity to METRO, requiring additional design precautions. LEED Gold certification is pending.
