Size & Type of Project - Fast Track

Maris Grove is a planned, gated retirement community consisting of three neighborhood centers and located on 87 acres in Delaware County, Pennsylvania. Each neighborhood features five residential buildings except for neighborhood 3 that has four residential buildings. Each neighborhood has its own community center. An average residential building is from 5 to 6 stories consisting of approximately 115,000 square feet. The total gross framed area of new construction will equal approximately 1,884,767 square feet. All buildings are linked via conditioned bridges or links.

Design and construction are proceeding in a phased manner, neighborhood to neighborhood. Design work began in June 2004 and is roughly 95% complete. Construction completion of the last building, RB3.5, is expected in May 2013 or earlier. Without inflation factored, the expected construction cost is $350 Million. Neighborhood 1 opened on time in October 2006.

MCE Scope of Services

Meyer Consulting Engineers was retained to provide complete structural design services for the entire campus. Our work encompasses the schematic, design development, construction document, bidding and construction administrative phases of the work. Predesign services included a structural feasibility study to determine cost-effective framing systems. Due to the length of the project, this study is regularly updated to reflect market availability and cost changes.

Key MCE personnel include Mr. Lawrence Nagielski, P.E. (Principal-in-Charge), Kiran Lamichhane, P.E. (Senior Project Structural Engineer/Project Manager) and Jin Xiaoshu (Chief CAD Draftsman).
